YouTube Kurucuları Delicious’ı Satın Aldı
Favorilerini online saklayan birçok kullanıcının ilk tercihi olan delicious Aralık 2005′te Yahoo! tarafından satın alınmıştı. Yahoo!’nun geçirdiği kötü günler ve değişen stratejileri kapsamında kapatılacağı konuşulandelicious hakkında bugün şahsen benim çok sevindiğim bir haber geldi.
Yahoo! benim de aralarında bulunduğum delicious kullanıcılarına gönderdiği bir e-posta ile popüler servisin YouTube kurucuları Chad Hurley ve Steve Chen tarafından satın alındığını bildirdi. Hatırlarsanız eski PayPal çalışanı olan ikilinin kurmuş oldukları video paylaşım servisi YouTube Ekim 2006′da Google tarafından 1.65 milyar dolara satın alınmıştı.
Chad Hurley ve Steve Chen’in yeni kurmuş oldukları internet şirketi AVOS‘un altında hizmet vermeye devam edecek olan delicious’ın hayatı bu sayede kurtulmuş oldu diyebiliriz.
Yapılan açıklamalarda AVOS’un delicious’a satın alma sürecinde ödediği rakam paylaşılmamış. Ancak servisin vizyoner sahiplerinin yönetimininde bundan sonra ilerleyeceği yol hakkında biraz fikir verilmiş. Şöyle ki, gönderilen basın bülteninde AVOS’un aynı zamanda CEO’su olan Chad Hurley delicious’u bir üst seviyeye taşımak istediklerini, kullanıcıların internet üzerinde içerik saklama ve paylaşmasını kolaylaştırmak tarafında büyük fırsatlar olduğunu dile getirmiş.
AVOS’un web sitesinde henüz şirketin başka ne tür internet servisleri hayata geçireceği yönünde bir bilgi bulunmuyor. Sadece YouTube kurucularının yeni şirketi olduğu, delicious’ı satın aldıkları, delicious kullanıcıları için sıkça sorulan sorular ve işe alım ilanları yer alıyor. Şu an için hakkında fazla bilgimiz olmasa da, AVOS’u bundan sonra yakından takip etmemiz gerektiğine eminim.
Uzun lafın kısası kendi adıma konuşacak olursam, alet çantamın en değerli parçası olan delicious’ın kazasız belasız bu süreci atlattığına seviniyorum. Geçenlerde delicious kapanırsa ne yaparım, en iyisi bir yedekleme yapayım diye düşünürken, doğrusu bu haber bana ilaç gibi geldi.
Diğer taraftan internet sektörü Chad Hurley ve Steve Chen’i girişimci koltuğunda tekrar kazanmış oldu. İşin bu tarafı da yine ayrı bir heyecan yaratıyor.
